Meat and liquor not be sold in Prayagraj during Mahakumbh: CM Yogi

Lucknow| There will be no sale of meat and liquor in the classical limits of Prayagraj during Mahakumbh 2025. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made this announcement in the presence of representatives, office bearers of all 13 Akharas, Khak-Chowk tradition, Dandibada tradition and Acharyabada tradition in Prayagraj. CM Yogi said that Mahakumbh is organized under the direction of the flag bearer Akharas of Sanatan Dharma and various saint traditions. The state government is its partner and devotees from all over the world are guests.

He said that the whole world will interact with Sanatan Indian culture in Mahakumbh. The government is dedicated to respecting the Sanatan tradition. Keeping in mind the sentiments of the entire Sanatan community including sages, saints, ascetics and recluses, it is necessary to ban the buying and selling of meat and liquor in the classical limits of Prayagraj.

The Chief Minister said that every saint and devotee coming to Mahakumbh with the desire to take bath in the holy Triveni Sangam will have darshan of the uninterrupted and pure Ganga-Yamuna. Efforts are being made at the government level to ensure the cleanliness of the holy rivers, but cooperation of the saints and sages is also expected.

Chief Minister Yogi also said that land will soon be reserved in Prayagraj for the Samadhi of the saints and sages who became Brahmin during the Mahakumbh. The Chief Minister said that the progress of Sanatan Samaj is possible only under the guidance of saints. For Mahakumbh 2025 to be more grand than Kumbh 2019, everyone has to contribute.bHe said that today, under the grace of saints and guidance of Prime Minister Modi, the whole world is seeing the new form of Ayodhya, Varanasi and Brajdham.

Paying tribute to the memory of Brahmin Narendra Giri  Maharaj, Chief Minister Yogi said that today a corridor is also being constructed near the lying Hanuman Ji temple. Calling upon all the saints to join the campaign of Swachh Mahakumbh, he said that for the pledge of cleanliness, it would be appropriate for everyone not to use banned plastic.

On Sant Samaj’s demand for a ban on cow slaughter, the Chief Minister said that cow slaughter is a crime in Uttar Pradesh. There is a provision of punishment up to life imprisonment against cow slaughter. Along with this, the state government is operating more than seven thousand cattle shelters, where more than 14 lakh cattle are protected.

Common people have also been connected to cow service through various schemes. The cooperation of the Sant Samaj is expected in taking forward this service work of cow protection. It would be absolutely appropriate that cow protection sites be developed in all ashrams. There should be cow service in every ashram. Giving top priority to security in the Mahakumbh, the Chief Minister requested all the saints, ascetics and acharyas not to allow anyone to stay in their ashram until they are duly verified.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a meeting with Sant community in Mahakumbh fair area. Amidst the chanting of Vedic mantras and chanting of Sanatan Dharma, Chief Minister Yogi greeted all the sages, saints and acharyas by wearing body clothes. A short film was also presented before the saints regarding the management and arrangements of Mahakumbh 2025.

Representatives of Akharas and various saint traditions unanimously thanked Chief Minister Yogi and said that today there is tension all over the world. One country is eager for war with another country. Mahakumbh-2025 to be organized under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi will give the message of peace to the entire world.

The saints said that CM Yogi is the first Chief Minister, who is communicating directly with the sages, saints and acharyas regarding Mahakumbh and is writing down their problems and suggestions after listening to them. This opportunity is incomparable for sages, saints and acharyas. The representatives of the Akharas also expressed hope for good arrangements for the security of the Sant Samaj. Saints expressed satisfaction over the preparations for Mahakumbh-2025. Also said that looking at the ongoing preparations in the fair area, it becomes clear that Mahakumbh-2025 will be grand and divine from all the Ardh Kumbh/Mahakumbh held earlier in Prayagraj.
