Mayawati’s statement after the Supreme Court’s comment on ‘Bulldozer Action’

Lucknow| After the Supreme Court’s comment on ‘Bulldozer Justice’ action, Bahujan Samaj Party President Mayawati has given a statement. While posting on social media on Tuesday, Mayawati wrote that bulldozers should also be used as per the upcoming decision of the Supreme Court. However, it would be appropriate to not use it. Mayawati posted that ‘Action against criminal elements in the country should be taken under the law and their family and close people should not be punished for their crimes. All this has been shown by our party’s government by ‘establishing the rule of law’. Mayawati wrote that ‘Whereas instead of using bulldozers on the families and closeness of criminal elements, strict action should be taken only against the concerned officials, who, after meeting such elements, do not give proper justice to the victims. All governments must pay attention to this.
The Supreme Court on Monday criticized the growing trend of demolishing houses or properties of those accused of crimes. The court had commented that it was a case of “bulldozer justice”. The court has announced that it will issue guidelines to resolve the matter.
