Make this crispy and tasty ‘Shakkarpare’ at home on Diwali

Ingredients for making shakkarpare
Flour – 500 grams (you can use flour or wheat flour)
Desi Ghee – 100g
Sugar – 400g
Water- 150 ml
Cardamom powder – 1/4 teaspoon
Oil-for frying

Method of making sugar powder
1. First of all, take flour in a big vessel and add ghee in it and mix well.
2. Now add water little by little and knead a soft dough. The dough should neither be too hard nor too soft.
3. After this, keep the kneaded dough covered for 15-20 minutes.
4. Then break the dough into small pieces and knead each piece lightly and roll it on a chakla.
5. Cut the rolled dough into desired shapes with a knife. You can cut it into round, triangle or diamond shape.
6. Now heat oil in a pan and fry the cut dough pieces on low flame until they turn golden.
7. After this, take out the fried sugar leaves one by one in a plate.
8. Then add sugar and water in a pan and put it on the gas and cook it until the sugar dissolves completely.
9. Add cardamom powder to it and mix and then when the syrup becomes thick, turn off the gas.
10. Now dip the fried sugar leaves in sugar syrup and after some time take them out and spread them in a plate.
11. After this, let the sugar powder cool completely and then after cooling, fill it in an airtight container and store it.

Special tips
1. To make Shakkarpare more crispy, you can keep the dough pieces in the refrigerator for a while before frying.
2. If you want to keep sugar syrup less sweet then you can reduce the amount of sugar.
3. You can also make Shakkarpare in different colors. For this you can use food color.
