Lucknow Bank robbery: Police killed two miscreants in an encounter, two accused still absconding

Lucknow| Police have killed two accused in an encounter in the case of theft by breaking the wall of an overseas bank in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. One of these accused, Sobind Kumar (29), a criminal carrying a reward of 25,000, was killed in Chinhat, Lucknow late on Monday night. The second accused Sunny Dayal (28) was killed in Gahmar area of Ghazipur district on Tuesday morning. Sunny was planning to run away to Bihar.

Police have recovered a 32 bore pistol, some items and Rs 35,500 from accused Sobind Kumar, who was killed in Chinhat, Lucknow.

The second accused Sunny Dayal, a resident of Munger, Bihar, was killed by Ghazipur police in an encounter when he was going towards Bihar with one of his associates. When the local police tried to stop them, both of them tried to ram their motorcycles on top of the police and ran towards the Bihar border.

One accused, Sunny Mara, was injured in retaliatory firing, while another accused escaped. The police admitted the injured accused to nearby Bhadaura CHC. Where the doctors referred him to District Hospital Ghazipur in critical condition. Doctors declared him dead in the district hospital.

Giving information about the encounter in Lucknow, DCP East Shashank Singh said, “On Monday night, the police crime team and the police station area team were jointly carrying out dumping action in the area”. Meanwhile, the police saw a suspicious vehicle coming at high speed and in an uncontrolled condition. While the police team was pumping in the area, the vehicle, instead of stopping, started moving more uncontrollably towards the police party. The police tried to stop the vehicle, but a person traveling in it suddenly opened fire on the police. In retaliation, the police retaliated as per training, in which one person was injured. The injured person has been identified as Sobin Kumar, from whose pocket a diary has been recovered. The second person in the vehicle fled leaving the vehicle on the spot. The injured person was taken to CHC Chinhat for treatment, from where he was referred to RML Hospital for better treatment. He is currently undergoing treatment and further action is prevalent

According to the information received so far, a total of 7 miscreants were involved in the incident. Of these, 3 have been arrested. The arrested criminals have been identified as Arvind Kumar, Balram Kumar and Kailash Bind. Arvind Kumar was injured in the encounter, he was shot in the leg. The remaining four miscreants were absconding, two of whom, Sobind Kumar and Sunny Dayal, were killed in an encounter with the police. At present only 2 accused Mithun Kumar and Vipin Kumar Verma are absconding, for whose arrest the police is raiding.
