New Delhi| Bad news has come for the employees of airplane manufacturing company Boeing. The company has decided to lay off more than 400 of its employees. Retrenchment notice has been sent to these employees. It is believed that the company has taken this decision due to continuous losses and the continuous strike of employees for the last eight weeks. However, the company says that layoffs are being done due to excessive appointment of employees.

Boeing Company announced in October that it would lay off 10 percent of its employees, or 17 thousand. Chief Executive Kelly Ortberg had said through email that this global layoff will involve employees at all levels, including executives, managers and employees. The company must re-determine its employees in line with its financial reality.

Now the company has sent pink slips to 400 of its employees. Employees receiving this slip will remain on payroll till mid-January. This will include employees of the technical unit of the company. Employees will also get career transition service, healthcare benefits and severance allowance for three months.

The company is currently facing a strike of about 33 thousand employees which has been going on for the last eight weeks. However, now the employees have started returning to work. But due to the strike the functioning of the company was adversely affected. The impact of this strike has also been seen on the company’s production of best-selling aircraft. The employee’s unions had been on strike since September 14. The strike burdened its commercial aviation results in the third quarter with $3 billion in prior taxes, a portion of the estimated loss of $9.97 per share.
