New Delhi: Various organizations across the country have taken to the streets in support of Bharat Bandh against the Supreme Court’s decision regarding cream layer in SC-ST reservation. Many political parties have also supported this call of Bharat Bandh. Many political parties have opposed it too.

Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi clearly said that he will not support this Bharat Bandh. Some special people are running this movement for their own selfishness. He alleged that some economically prosperous Dalits are spreading the illusion of eliminating reservation by talking falsely. Many Dalit community people are still living in extreme poverty. Manjhi said, ‘Those who are supporting the bandh are the same who earlier also strengthened their position in the name of reservation and left the rest of the Dalit community behind.’ Manjhi said that some Dalits are living a better life by raising the issue of reservation.

President of NDA ally Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) and Union Minister Chirag Paswan has supported the Bharat Bandh. He said that this bandh will have our full support. Chirag Paswan said that while there is a practice of untouchability against ACs and STs in the society, there should not be provisions like reservation and creamy layer in sub-category for SC/ST.

Kirori Lal Meena said that only a few people want to instigate SC-ST by harassing them for political gains. This is not appropriate. He said that the Supreme Court gave an observation that the creamy layer should be considered. The Prime Minister called a cabinet meeting and said that we will not implement any kind of creamy layer. Kirori Lal Meena said that I am with the spirit of the Supreme Court on the creamy layer.
