Lucknow| The festival of Janmashtami was celebrated with great pomp in the city. Special decorations were seen on temples, roads and intersections. Apart from the major Krishna temples of the city, the festival was also celebrated in other temples. An attractive tableau was seen on this occasion. The house, courtyard and temple of Awadh were all filled with joy. Since morning, the joy of Nandlala’s birth anniversary was seen everywhere. Some were busy shopping in the market and at some places dishes were being prepared at home. As the night deepened, the joy of faith increased further. Someone celebrated Kanha’s birth by decorating temples with balloons, offering 56 offerings, while someone cut a cake and said ‘Happy Birthday to Krishna’. The birth anniversary was celebrated in homes and temples at exactly twelve o’clock midnight. Like every year, this year too Shri Krishna Janmashtami Maha Mahotsav was celebrated with great pomp on Monday at Shri Shri Radha Raman Bihari Temple (ISKCON) Sushant Golf City, Lucknow. Under the direction of temple president Aparimeya Shyam Prabhu, devotees enjoyed dance and kirtan in the Janmashtami Maha Mahotsav. On the occasion of Shri Krishna Prakatyotsav, Shri Radhamadhav grand flower decorations, Maharasas and children’s pastimes were staged in the Shrimadhav temple located in Daliganj. 56 types of Bhog tableau was made and Dahi Hadi was broken. Bhajan singer Dhanjay Mittal recited the bhajans. Dancer Uma Sahu staged the pastimes of Shri Krishna. For the first time, a grand decoration of snow was done in the presence of General Secretary Rupesh Aggarwal, Anurag Sahu, Ashish Aggarwal and officials and members of the temple committee. Well-known bhajan singer Harmhendra Singh of Khalilabad presented Roman bhajans. For the first time, a grand decoration of ice was done in the Khatu Shyam temple located on Birbal Sahni Marg.
