House prices in top-7 cities rose 23%, reaching 1.23 crore in the first half of the current fiscal year

New Delhi| The average price of houses in the top-7 cities of the country has increased by 23 per cent to reach 1.23 crore in the first half of the current financial year. In the first half of 2023-24, the average price was one crore. According to Anarock, the increasing demand for luxury homes led to the sale of more expensive homes in these cities.

Prices in the National Capital Region i.e. NCR have increased by the highest 55% year-on-year to 1.45 crore. 93 lakh in the same period a year ago. Between April and September this year, 32,120 houses worth Rs 46,611 crore were sold. Bangalore came second with a 44% price increase. From Rs 84 lakh to an average price of Rs 1.21 crore here. The price of houses in Hyderabad increased by 37% from an average of 84 lakh to 1.15 crore, in Chennai by 31% from Rs 72 lakh to 95 lakh, in Pune by 29% from 66 lakh to 85 lakh.

From April to September this year, 2,27,400 houses worth Rs 2,79,309 crore have been sold in the top-7 cities. Last year, 2,35,200 houses worth Rs 2,35,800 crore were sold in the same period. House prices in Mumbai Metropolitan Region have remained stable at Rs 1.47 crore in one year.
