Government exempted Usna rice and brown rice from export duty

New Delhi| The Central Government has exempted Usna rice and brown rice from export duty. The Finance Ministry gave this information by issuing a notification late. According to the notification, the export duty on Usna rice, brown rice (brown rice) and paddy has been reduced from 10 per cent to ‘‘zero’’. This exemption became effective on 22 October.
According to sources, this fee reduction has been approved by the Election Commission, provided no political benefit is taken from it. Elections are going to be held in Jharkhand and Maharashtra next month.
Last month, the government had exempted non-Basmati white rice from export duty. Apart from this, export duty on Usna rice, brown rice and paddy was also reduced from 20 percent to 10 percent. To promote exports and increase the income of farmers, the minimum export price of Basmati rice has also been abolished.
