Google announces new features for Google Pay
New Delhi| Google has announced several new features of its UPI app at Global Fintech Fest (GFF) 2024. Google Pay users will soon start getting these features in Android and iOS apps. Google said that these features will be added to Google Pay by the end of the year. Google has added many features to Google Pay (GPay) in this fest including UPI Circle, UPI Voucher or eRupi, Clickpay QR Scan, Prepaid Utility Payment, Tap and Pay with RuPay Card.
Recently, Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has launched UPI Circle Delegated Payment System. In this, the facility to make UPI payment will be available even without a bank account. This feature will also be introduced in Google Pay soon. The company has announced this at the Global Fintech Fest. UPI Circuit is a delegated payment system in which primary users with full delegation can add their trusted secondary users to the circle. Even if the secondary user does not have a bank account, he will be able to make UPI payment using the primary user’s account. However, it has a spending limit for UPI transactions. For each delegation, there will be a limit of UPI transactions up to Rs 15 thousand a month and a maximum of Rs 5,000.
According to NPCI, primary users in the partial delegation can authorize the payment requests of their secondary users. Primary users will be able to complete UPI payment transactions by entering the PIN. A primary user can add up to 5 secondary users to UPI Circle. Also, any secondary user can accept the delegation of only one primary user. In UPI Circle, only the primary user’s bank account is linked to UPI. Only the primary user can authorize the payment of any secondary user.
