Good News: Aadhaar Card Update Deadline Extended Again, UIDAI Announces on Social Media

New Delhi – The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has given a big relief once again to crores of Aadhaar cardholders. UIDAI has extended the deadline for uploading documents to update Aadhaar by one full year. Earlier, this free service was set to end on June 14, 2025, but it has now been extended until June 14, 2026. This information was shared by UIDAI through a post on its official social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

The government has clarified that citizens whose Aadhaar cards are 10 years old or more must update them with valid proof of identity and address. This means that if your Aadhaar card was issued over a decade ago and you haven’t updated it even once since then, you are required to update it. Failing to do so may result in your Aadhaar card being deactivated.

To update Aadhaar, you need two essential documents:
- Proof of Identity (like PAN Card)
- Proof of Address (like Voter ID)
Usually, Aadhaar updates at service centers cost ₹50, but as per UIDAI, this service will remain completely free until June 14, 2026.
