From Davos, India came up with a promise of 1.6 million+ jobs and an investment of 2 million crores

New Delhi| The annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) ended with a call to work together in this period of uncertainty. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, who participated in this five-day meeting, said that India’s performance in the meeting was very good. The world’s top companies have reiterated their commitment to invest in India. The amount of investment is around Rs 20 lakh crore. The next annual meeting of WEAUF will be held in Davos on January 19-23, 2026. Let us tell you that this time India had built two pavilions in the meeting. It was attended by over 100 CEOs and other top leaders from India.
Vaishnav said, in Davos we brilliantly presented the prospects of our global geopolitical and geo-economic scenario. Despite all the disruptions and all the issues facing the world, India has emerged as a very trustworthy country. He said, we have clearly shown the world that in all circumstances India is a country that believes in peace, development for all. Maharashtra delegation led by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis signed 61 investment MoUs worth Rs 15.70 lakh crore. It has the potential to create 1.6 million jobs.
Telangana delegation led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy secured 20 investment MoUs worth Rs 1.79 lakh crore based on data centre, green energy and state-of-the-art technologies. These are expected to create some 50 000 jobs. Kerala emphasized its transformation into an industrial center driven by progressive government policies. Kerala Industries Minister P Rajeev held more than 30 face-to-face meetings at the Invest Kerala Pavilion and mentioned the investment potential of the state in various sectors.
Uttar Pradesh demonstrated its ambitious vision of transforming into a $1 trillion economy and secured investment commitments of several thousand crore rupees. Union Minister Chirag Paswan said that global beverage giant AB InBev has announced an investment of $250 million in India’s beverage sector in various states. Unilever, a global fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) company operating as Hindustan Unilever in India, announced the setting up of two new manufacturing units in Telangana. Many other global companies explored partnership possibilities with Indian companies.
The annual meeting of the World Economic Forum was attended by more than 3,000 global leaders from politics, business, education, civil society and other sectors from 130 countries. This meeting was discussed in more than 500 sessions. It held intensive discussions for five days on many other issues including politics, economy, climate and war.
