Follow this special recipe to make ‘Dhaba Style Dum Aloo’

Ingredients for making Dhaba Style Dum Aloo
Potatoes – 500 grams (boiled and peeled)
Onions – 2 (finely chopped)
Garlic – 5-6 cloves (finely chopped)
Ginger – 1 inch (finely chopped)
Tomatoes – 2 (finely chopped)
Yogurt – 1/2 cup
Garam masala – 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder – 1 tsp
Red chilli powder – 1/2 teaspoon
Turmeric powder – 1/4 teaspoon
Cumin – 1/2 teaspoon
Asafoetida – a pinch
Oil – 2-3 teaspoons
Salt – as per taste
Water – as required
Coriander – finely chopped (for garnish)
Method to make Dhaba Style Dum Aloo
1. First of all heat oil in a pan. Add cumin and asafetida in it. When cumin seeds start crackling, add onion and fry until golden.
2. Now add garlic and ginger to it and fry. Then add tomatoes and cook until the tomatoes become soft.
3. Grind the roasted mixture in a mixer and make a paste and then heat oil in a pan.
4. Now add ground ingredients to it and fry. Then add curd, garam masala, coriander powder, red chili powder and turmeric powder and mix well.
5. After this, add boiled potatoes to it and cook on low flame. Keep stirring occasionally so that the potatoes mix well with the spices.
6. Now add some water and make thick gravy. Just then after cooking for a while, turn off the gas and garnish with green coriander and serve hot roti or paratha.
