Complete the work of Ganga Expressway main carriageway by 31st December: Nandi
To know the pace and progress of construction of a Ganga Expressway in the primary works scheduled by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for Mahakumbh 2025 as well as to remove the obstacles in the construction work, Uttar Pradesh Government’s Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi conducted an on-site inspection of the Ganga Expressway being built from Prayagraj to Meerut in Pratapgarh. Expressing displeasure over finding the pace of soil work very slow, Minister Nandi directed the officials to increase the pace of work and in any case complete the construction work of the first carriageway of 596 km long Ganga Expressway by 31 December 2024. Minister Nandi clearly warned the concerned officials that negligence in this work will not be tolerated at all. Minister Nandi said that whether to increase manpower or machinery, but in any case complete the work by the stipulated date.
Minister Nandi conducted an on-site inspection of Uttar Pradesh’s longest under-construction Ganga Expressway connecting Prayagraj to Meerut during the day. Which is being constructed by Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority. Minister Nandi conducted on-site inspection of the ongoing work on Chainage 601-457 of Ganga Expressway, Chaunage 576-558 and Chainage 565-200 on Prayagraj-Lucknow route at Askaranpur Jhingur Kunda in Pratapgarh district. Minister Nandi reached the under construction site and conducted on-site inspection of the construction work and also took information about the quality. The minister inquired about the progress so far along with the set target on which the pace of soil work was found to be very slow. Minister Nandi asked the officials why the pace of soil work is slow. Responding to which the officials said that due to rain there is difficulty in soil work.
After conducting an on-site inspection of the Ganga Expressway, Minister Nandi conducted a detailed review of the construction of the Ganga Expressway at Circuit House Prayagraj as well as the plans to complete the construction work by 31 December 2024, the scheduled period before Mahakumbh 2025. While giving instructions to the officials in the review meeting, Minister Nandi said that the soil work is far behind and gave clear instructions to UPEIDA officials as well as all the people associated with the construction of Ganga Expressway that the construction of the main carriageway of Ganga Expressway is to be completed by 31 December 2024 under any circumstances. He said, “You should know how to complete it, but negligence in this work will not be tolerated at all. All responsible officers should plan day by day. Review, remove whatever shortcomings and problems you are facing. If there is any problem at any level, resolve it immediately. ” Minister Nandi said that aim to achieve more goals than the set target, make reverse charts. Minister Nandi asked the officials to submit a report by August 20 on how the work will be completed of the main carriageway of the Ganga Expressway by December 31, 2024.
