Bank Holidays in August: Banks to be closed for 13 days this month, see holiday list
Lucknow| In the month of August, both government and private banks will remain closed for a total of 13 days in different zones across the country. These include Sundays, national and regional holidays, as well as the second and fourth Saturdays of the month. Different festivals will be celebrated in different states during August, due to which banks will remain closed. These include Ker Puja, Tendong Lo Rum Fat, Patriots Day, Independence Day/Parsi New Year (Shahanshahi), Rakshabandhan and Janmashtami. Let us know when there will be bank holidays this month.
Banks will remain closed on these dates in August 2024
August 3 (Saturday) – Banks will remain closed in Agartala due to Ker Puja.
August 4 – Due to Sunday, there will be a public holiday of banks across the country.
August 8 (Thursday) – Banks will remain closed in Sikkim due to Tandong Lo Rum Phat.
August 10 – Banks will be on holiday due to the second Saturday.
August 11 – Due to Sunday, banks will have a weekly holiday.
August 13 (Tuesday) – Banks will remain closed in Manipur due to Patriots Day.
August 15 (Thursday) – All banks in India will remain closed due to Independence Day/Parsi New Year (Shahanshahi).
August 18- Due to Sunday, there will be a weekly holiday for banks across the country.
August 19 (Monday) – Banks will remain closed in Tripura, Gujarat, Odisha, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh due to Rakshabandhan/Jhula Purnima/Bir Vikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur’s birthday.
August 20 (Tuesday) – Banks will remain closed in Kerala due to Sree Narayana Guru Jayanti.
August 24 – Banks will be closed due to the fourth Saturday.
August 25 – Due to Sunday, banks will have a public holiday.
August 26 (Monday) – Due to Janmashtami (Shravan Vad-8)/Krishna Jayanti, banks will remain closed in Gujarat, Odisha, Chandigarh, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rajasthan, Jammu, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Meghalaya, Himachal Pradesh and Srinagar.
