New Delhi| The prices of Amul milk have been reduced. Jayan Mehta, Managing Director of Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation, gave information about this. The company has said that the prices of its three major milk products have been reduced by Re 1. These include Amul Gold, Amul T Special and Amul Fresh.

Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), a company marketing dairy products under the Amul brand, has reduced milk prices by Re 1 per liter across India. However, this reduction in prices is only for packs containing one litre.

“We have reduced the prices of one liter packs by Re 1 per liter across India”, GCMMF managing director Jayen Mehta told PTI “The aim is to encourage consumers to buy larger packets of milk and get incentives for it”, he said.

The price of Amul Gold milk in Delhi has been reduced from Rs 68 per litre to Rs 67, while the price of Amul fresh has now been reduced from Rs 56 per litre to Rs 55 per litre. GCMMF’s turnover increased by 8 per cent to Rs 59,445 crore in FY 2023-24.

Mehta had earlier said that the cooperative society expects double-digit growth in revenue during this financial year due to strong demand. GCMMF processed an average of 310 lakh liters of milk per day during the last financial year. Its total annual milk processing capacity is about 500 lakh litres.

GCMMF is the world’s largest farmer-owned cooperative dairy, to which 36 lakh farmers from 18,600 villages in Gujarat are connected and its 18 member associations buy 300 lakh liters of milk daily.

According to the International Farm Comparison Network (IFCN), it ranks 8th among the top 20 dairy companies in the world in terms of milk processing. In addition to the domestic market, GCMMF is exporting dairy products to about 50 countries. Last year, GCMMF also entered the US market by launching four variants of fresh milk to meet the needs of the Indian diaspora and Asian population.
