Ajit Doval meets China’s National Security Advisor during the BRICS conference

New Delhi| India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval held a meeting with China’s National Security Advisor in St. Petersburg. During this, many topics were discussed from the Line of Actual Control (LAC) to establishing peace and harmony in the border areas. Both the officials have arrived here to attend the BRICS NSA meeting. Both of them held this separate meeting on the sidelines of the main meeting. National Security Advisor Ajit Doval met Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs, during the meeting of BRICS high-ranking officials/National Security Advisors responsible for security matters in Russia. On behalf of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, it was informed that in the meeting, both sides reviewed the recent efforts towards finding an early solution to the remaining issues on the Line of Actual Control (LAC). This will create conditions to stabilize and rebuild bilateral relations.

In this meeting, both the countries also agreed that efforts should be made to eliminate the tense situation in the areas on the border and ensure that the efforts of both the sides are successful. Both sides agreed to work promptly and redouble their efforts to end tensions. NSA said that peace and harmony in the border areas and respect for LAC are essential for normalcy in bilateral relations. Both parties should fully comply with the relevant bilateral agreements, protocols and understandings entered into in the past by both Governments. Both sides agreed that India-China bilateral relations are important not only for both countries but also for the region and the world. The two countries also exchanged views on the global and regional situation.
