A web series to be made on the 90-year journey of the Reserve Bank

New Delhi| A web series is about to be made on the 90-year journey of the Reserve Bank of India, seeing which will help people to have a better understanding of the important role of the central bank in the rapidly growing economy of the country. According to RBI, the tender to prepare the web series for Rs 6.5 crore has been submitted to the production house Star India.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI), established in 1935, completed 90 years in April this year. Star India Pvt Ltd, Viacom 18, Zee Entertainment Network Ltd and Discovery Communications India “had joined the race to create the web series after the central bank issued a proposal (RFP) to make it in July”. The proposal is to “produce and distribute web series to commemorate 90 years of RBI”.
According to RBI G Entertainment Network and Discovery Communications India were not able to progress beyond the technical evaluation round while Star India Private Limited and Viacom 18 reached the final round. According to RBI, Star India has been awarded a tender worth Rs 6.5 crore to make a web series.
According to the RFP document, RBI had expressed its desire to create a web series of five episodes of approximately 25-30 minutes each, which could be broadcast on national TV channels and/or OTT platforms to commemorate RBI’s 90-year journey.
The document released by the RBI said that this five-episode series will work to increase public understanding of the important role of the central bank in the economy, promote greater participation and build trust and confidence in its operations and policies.
RBI had invited proposals from production houses, TV channels and OTT platforms to prepare it. According to RBI, the first objective of this project is to create a comprehensive and engaging series to provide an in-depth exploration of the functions and operations of RBI during its 90-year journey. This web series will consist of five episodes with a duration of 20 to 25 minutes.
