Scindia said: India among top 5 countries in making telecommunication technology

New Delhi| India has joined the top-5 countries in the world, which have their own telecommunication technology. Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said, before India, only China, Finland, Sweden and South Korea have this technology. We aim to contribute at least 10 per cent to India’s global 6 G standards.
Scindia said in a program, telecom companies are merging all over the world. But, we have four companies here. In 2014, there were 90 crore mobile subscribers in the country. Today, that number is more than 1.2 billion. Then 250 million people were connected to the Internet and now there are 970 million Internet users. In 2014, 60 million people had broadband internet, the number of which has reached 94 crore today. This is more than the total population of America. The minister said, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL) is installing one lakh such indigenous 4 G mobile towers across the country, which will be converted to 5 G. This work is expected to be completed by June. This is being done under the Self-reliant India scheme.
DTD messaging service started, will work even without internet
Scindia said, Direct-to-Device (DTD) satellite messaging services have been started by the government. In this technology, messages can be sent from the smartphone even when it is not connected to the network. Connectivity then starts to come directly from the satellite and not from the mobile tower. We have 100 5 G test beds, 6 G test beds and the India 6 G Alliance, cooperating with the US, Germany, South Korea, the EU and the UK.
Apart from Starlink, many companies are in line
Telecom Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said, not only Elon Musk’s Starlink applied to start satellite communication services in India, but many other companies have also shown interest. Satellite services will complement existing communications networks. Will help cover rural and remote areas. Scindia said, we have already given licenses to two companies for satellite communication services. One to Reliance and the other
