New Delhi| The number of jobs in the country increased rapidly in the month of February. The job market recorded a 41 per cent growth in the second month of the year. During this period, freshers were recruited on a large scale. It has been claimed in a report released on Thursday. Statistics from Foundit (formerly Monster APAC and ME), Asia’s jobs and talent platform, show that fresher hiring grew 26 percent year-on-year in February. The report said there was a steady demand for entry-level talent among employers. According to the report, recruitment increased by 41 percent in February 2025 compared to a year earlier.

The Foundit report said that freshers were appointed the most for hardware and software related work in the IT sector. They accounted for 17 percent of total job creation in 2024, doubling to 34 percent in 2025. Foundit CEO V Suresh said, “The shift towards skill-based hiring cannot be ruled out”. Employers are prioritizing candidates with practical expertise and industry-relevant skills.”
