New Delhi| Recruitment activities for office work (white collar jobs) increased by four percent in January. FMCG companies were leading in providing jobs. Naukri.com, a portal related to recruitment activities, informed about the intensification of recruitment activities in January on the basis of Naukri JobSpeak Index.
Share of FMCG companies in total recruitments
According to the report, FMCG companies accounted for 16 per cent of the total recruitments. Insurance accounted for 15 per cent and medicines for 11 per cent. The recruitment environment remained stable, with strong performance in these key areas. Recruitment in the hospitality sector has increased by eight per cent, while IT recruitment has remained flat.
Rajasthan’s performance in the recruitment scenario of January has been excellent. Cities like Jodhpur and Udaipur recorded impressive growth of 35 per cent and 32 per cent respectively. Pawan Goyal, chief business officer, Naukri.com, said there was a disappointing 11 per cent decline in recruitment in January last year.
On the contrary, 2025 has started positively. Recruitment activities have been restrained due to the information technology (IT) sector. However, strong growth in most key sectors such as FMCG, pharmaceuticals, insurance and hospitality bodes well for office roles. There is hope of increase in recruitment in future also.
