Prayagraj| The world’s largest humanitarian gathering ‘Mahakumbh 2025’ is going to be organized in Prayagraj from 13 January to 26 February. Preparations regarding this are in their final stages in Prayagraj. With the inspiration of CM Yogi, this time no stone is being left unturned to make Mahakumbh healthy and safe along with divine and grand.

In this direction, UP Jal Nigam, Urban has set up a Geo Tube Technology based treatment plant at Salori, Prayagraj, which will purify the waste water of all the untapped 22 drains of the city, so that as per the instructions of CM, water from any drain in river Ganga will not be poured without treatment. This will help in making the water of Ganga clean and uninterrupted as per the standards of cleanliness.

As per the clear instructions of CM Yogi, this time in Mahakumbh, contaminated water of untreated waste water from any drain or sewage will not be dropped in the holy rivers. According to his instructions, Jal Nigam, Urban has put in Jio Tube technology based treatment plan, Salori for the treatment of all untapped 22 drains of Prayagraj.

Regarding this, Executive Engineer Saurabh Kumar said that the trial run of this treatment plant, built at a cost of Rs 55 crore, is currently going on, which will start functioning at its full capacity from January 1. Geo tube is a modern technology of sewage water treatment. In this, 40 to 50 percent of the BOD level of sewage water and about 80 percent of the TSS is treated in Geo tubes only. After this, this treated water is treated with hydrogen peroxide and ozonized.

He told that in this treatment plant, instead of chlorination, ozonization is done, because chlorine dissolved in large quantities in treated water is harmful for aquatic organisms. Ozonization kills all types of fecal bacteria, then this treated water can be released into rivers. It is monitored online 24 hours a day with OCEMS technology.

CM Yogi had inspected the treatment plant during his visit to Prayagraj on 12 December and had also given instructions not to create any kind of problem during the Mahakumbh.
