Grap-4 will continue in Delhi, pollution level rises again, crosses AQI 400
New Delhi| The air quality in the country’s capital Delhi has again reached severe category. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi’s overall air quality index (AQI) on Wednesday is 396. At the same time, in some areas this level has crossed 400, due to which people may have to face health related problems.
The level of pollution in various areas of Delhi has become very worrying. According to Central Pollution Control Board data, AQI has been recorded at 416 in Alipore, 431 in Anand Vihar, 420 in Ashok Vihar, and 422 in Jahangirpuri. In addition, AQI has reached levels of 412 at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, 409 at Mandir Marg, and 443 at Mundka.
In addition, figures of 415 have been reported in Narela, 420 in Nehru Nagar, 409 in Patparganj, and 413 in Punjabi Bagh. 432 AQI has been recorded in Rohini, 423 in Shadipur, 425 in Sonia Vihar, 432 in Vivek Vihar and 423 in Wazirpur. Citizens may have to face serious health risks as the pollution level in these areas reaches severe category. This pollution has now become very dangerous for health as the pollution level in many areas of Delhi has crossed 400.
In view of the increasing level of pollution, the fourth phase (GRAP-4) of Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) has been implemented in Delhi. After GRAP-4 was implemented, several stringent restrictions have been imposed by the government to control air pollution. Strict restrictions have been imposed on factories, construction works, and traffic in Delhi. Trucks, loaders and other heavy vehicles are not allowed to enter Delhi in the capital.
