A plan to come on commercial space, ‘First Come, First Serve’ for startups at all stations of NMRC
Lucknow| Noida Metro Rail Corporation has made changes in its short term policy. Now the allocation will not be done through tender, but on the basis of ‘first come, first serve’. This is being done to promote startups. Revenue will also be generated from this. NMRC Executive Director Mahendra Prasad said that NMRC is coming up with the scheme at its 21 metro stations to let the startup grow. Under this, two slabs of 5 meters and space from 1 to 10 meters will be given for startup. Space will be given at the metro station. For this, the allottee will have to pay rent at the rate of Rs 1.5 to 5 thousand per square meter and will be able to run it for three years. After review, it can be extended further for two years. For this, the annual turnover of the applicant should be around Rs 5 lakh, so that they can operate it.
He told that this will generate a revenue of Rs 4.50 crore for the month. Within 15 days, the policy will be put into the public domain. Earlier the allotment process was done through tender. It has been abolished. Here one person will be allotted only one space, not the other. Scrutiny of the form will also be done for this. Advertisement can also be done on metro pillar to generate revenue. The entire process is in process.
He informed that six agencies have come for commercial space at NMRC’s Alpha-1 metro station. Apart from this, bid process has also been done for advertising on the station’s stare and indoor parts. Commercial activity will be done at Pari Chowk. Also, revenue will be generated from commercial space in Sector-101, 81 and 83. 21 stations of Noida will be co-branded. In this, revenue is already being generated through co-branding at many stations.
