Government monitoring the development works done in villages through drones

Lucknow| Now the Yogi government is taking the help of drone technology to check the quality of development works taking place in the villages of Uttar Pradesh. CM Yogi has taken this decision to monitor important works like housing being built in villages, drinking water facilities, irrigation related works, road construction, construction of playgrounds and plantation.
Teams have been deployed at the district headquarters to verify these works and MNREGA related works in the entire state, the number of these teams can also be increased as per the need. This step of Yogi government will not only bring transparency in rural development works but will also ensure accountability of officials.
The government believes that this type of technological experiment will not only improve development works but will also help in strengthening the rural economy. An official said that the work of continuous monitoring and inspection of the works done under MNREGA scheme in the state through drone technology is going on. Yogi government has given instructions for district wise inspection for this.
Under the leadership and direction of CM Yogi, while the village-oriented schemes of the Rural Development Department are being implemented in a better way, arrangements have been made for continuous monitoring to ensure that there is no confusion in implementing the schemes. The work of monitoring the development works by videography/photography using drone technology is continuing.
Videography/photography work is being done continuously with drone technology by the teams deployed at the state headquarters level by visiting the districts. The objective of monitoring and inspection of development works using drone technology is to ensure that the benefits of the schemes reach the public in real terms and there is no reduction in the quality of the works. The government is conducting an inspection of the development works that took place in 2023-24.
After inspection of the development works taking place in the villages of the state, accountability of the responsible officers of those districts where the work has not been done as per the prescribed standards will be fixed. The government has directed the officials related to the districts to fully cooperate with the state level drone team. Under this, Chief Development Officers have been instructed to ensure the duty of subordinate officers and employees to provide support to the drone team. In this work, the number of teams deployed at the state headquarters level has also been increased.
The department has said that the purpose of increasing the number of teams is to increase the reach of drone cameras at more and more workplaces. So that transparency and quality of work can be ensured. Its first successful experiment has been done in Banda district.
