UP: Government to run a special campaign to free the transit land from encroachment

Lucknow| The Uttar Pradesh government is going to run a special campaign to free the transit land from illegal encroachers in the entire state. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave instructions to appoint nodal officers for this. Besides, orders have also been given to provide the report of the campaign to the Chief Minister’s Office.

CM said that negligence will not be done during the campaign. CM Yogi has also decided to provide green fodder, straw and nutritious animal feed to the cattle. In this sequence, more than 27 thousand hectares of transit land in 12 districts of the state has been freed from 100 percent encroachment.

CM Yogi, in a recent high level meeting, has instructed the officials to free the transit land from illegal encroachers. In such a situation, as per the intention of CM Yogi, a list of nodal officers is being prepared to run the campaign smoothly so that the campaign can be properly monitored. The nodal officers will have to submit the campaign report to the government every day. On the instructions of CM Yogi, a list of transit lands is being prepared in the entire state, so that it can be clear how much transit land is occupied. Accordingly, district wise campaign will be conducted.

From time to time a campaign is run to free the transit land from illegal occupation. In this sequence, a campaign will be launched once again. CM Yogi has also directed to conduct a realistic assessment of destitute cattle in urban and rural areas and construct additional sheds in cow shelters. There should be proper arrangements for cleanliness of cow shelters, no situation of mud and waterlogging should arise anywhere. There should be arrangements for chaff, green fodder, water etc. in all shelters. There should be arrangements to bury the dead cattle with respect and proper method.

According to revenue records, there are 65,177 hectares of transit land in the entire state. These include 4,599 hectares of transit land in Hardoi, 3,678 hectares in Kanpur Nagar, 3349 hectares in Rae Bareli, 3,077 hectares in Lucknow, 2805 hectares in Fatehpur and 2,005 hectares in Amethi. So far, 27,688.75 hectares of transit land has been freed from encroachment, the percentage of which is 42.48 percent of the total transit land. A special campaign will be launched to free 37,488.25 hectares of transit land from encroachment.
