Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday embarked on a two-day visit to Israel.

This will be PM Modi’s second visit to the country and is expected to further strengthen the India–Israel Strategic Partnership.

Ahead of his departure, PM Modi said in a post on X, “I will be undertaking a State Visit to Israel today and tomorrow. Our nations share a robust and multifaceted Strategic Partnership. Ties have significantly strengthened in the last few years. I will be holding talks with PM Netanyahu, in which we will discuss ways to strengthen cooperation across diverse fields. I will also meet President Isaac Herzog, President of Israel.”

“This evening, I will be addressing the Israeli Parliament, Knesset. This is a tribute to the strong parliamentary and democratic ties that connect us. I will also interact with the Indian diaspora, who have made a big contribution in strengthening the India-Israel friendship,” he added.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), PM Modi’s discussions with Netanyahu are aimed at further strengthening cooperation across various domains, including science and technology, innovation, agriculture, water management, technology, defence and security, trade and investment, as well as people-to-people ties. He will also exchange views on regional and global issues of mutual interest.

PM Modi said that he is eagerly looking forward to interact with the members of the Indian diaspora who have for long been nurturing the India-Israel special friendship.

He expressed confidence that his State Visit will further consolidate the enduring bonds between the two countries, set new goals for the Strategic Partnership, and advance the shared vision for a resilient, innovative and prosperous future.
