39-member JPC formed on One Nation-One Election, Bhartrihari Mahtab Chairman

New Delhi| The Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) formed to consider the Constitution Amendment Bill and another bill related to ‘One Nation-One Election’ will have 39 members. Bharatiya Janata Party’s Lok Sabha MP Bhartrihari Mahtab has been made the chairman of the committee. Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal announced the formation of JPC. It consists of 27 members of Lok Sabha while 12 members of Rajya Sabha.

Bhartrihari Mahtab from Lok Sabha in JPC, pp. Chaudhary, CM Ramesh, Bansuri Swaraj, Parshottambhai Rupala, Anurag Singh Thakur, Vishnu Dayal Ram, Sambit Patra, Anil Baluni, Vishnu Dutt Sharma, Baijayant Panda, Sanjay Jaiswal, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Manish Tiwari, Sukhdev Bhagat, Dharmendra Yadav, Chhotalal, Kalyan Banerjee, T.M. Seva Ganapati, Harish Balayogi, Anil Yashwant Desai, Supriya Sule, Shrikant Eknath Shinde, Sambhavi, K. Radhakrishnan, Chandan Chauhan and Balshauri Vallabhaneni have been included.

There will be 12 members from Rajya Sabha. After getting approval from the Union Cabinet, the 129th Constitution (Amendment) Bill was introduced in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday. Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal tabled this bill, which was strongly opposed by the opposition. After this the Modi government sent this bill to the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC). JPC was formed on the recommendation of the government.
