Noida| Yogi government has started the process of implementing modern traffic management system in Greater Noida area. According to the vision of CM Yogi, Integrated and Traffic Management System (ISTMS) will soon be established in the Greater Noida area, which will act as ‘3rd eye ’ in the traffic management and safety of Greater Noida.

Under the project, high quality CCTV surveillance cameras will be installed at 357 locations in Greater Noida through funds of Rs 227.60 crore, thereby enabling surveillance of every nook and corner of the Greater Noida area.

Through the establishment of ISTMS, the focus will be on the integration process of various technologies to make the traffic management of the area more efficient and safe. The project will develop a comprehensive traffic management system, video surveillance, emergency response system and public information system. At the same time, under the process, Integrated Command and Control Center (ICC) will also be established, which will improve the quality of life of citizens and visitors. This process will be completed by Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority.

Integrated and Traffic Management System (ISTMS) is also known as Safe City and Traffic Management System (SCMC). ITMS aims to provide law enforcement agencies and traffic managers with real-time and predictable information about citizens, assets, traffic flows and traffic congestion/incidents. The solution will be implemented focusing on improving civil protection, especially for women, children and senior citizens, as well as protecting and managing urban roads through adaptive control and analysis.

Video surveillance cameras, smart traffic signal control, ease of mobility, management of emergency services, data analytics, routing and dispatching services, public information systems etc. will be ensured through the process. The traffic management system shall have all the necessary components for the proper functioning of the ecosystem of connectivity, hardware and software technologies. Under the process, a time period for rolling out the ISTMS system has been set within 12 months. Integrated Traffic Management System has already been implemented in Noida and Ghaziabad.

Taking forward the zero tolerance policy of CM Yogi, real time traffic monitoring will be done through intelligent traffic management under the project, which will help in crime control. The implementation of the system will help in reducing travel time. The efficiency of transport infrastructure will be increased to regulate and maintain normal flow of traffic at intersections, which will help in reducing congestion, reducing travel time, fuel consumption and carbon emissions.

It will become a medium to increase operational efficiency, increase customer services, real time information access, user friendly interface and implement Intelligent Transportation System (ITS).

Under the project, an Integrated Command and Control Center will be established through which the benefits of these features will be available:-
