US Visit: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman reached America on a five-day visit, will participate in various programs

New Delhi| Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is on a five-day visit to America from April 20 to 25. She arrived at San Francisco International Airport on Sunday (local time), where she was welcomed by India’s Ambassador to the US Vinay Mohan Kwatra and India’s Consul General in San Francisco Srikar Reddy Koppula. The Finance Minister will participate in various programs during her five-day visit.
The Finance Ministry posted on X and informed about the Finance Minister’s arrival in San Francisco. The Finance Ministry wrote in a post on X, ‘Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today met the Consul General of India in San Francisco in the presence of India’s Ambassador to the US Vinay Mohan Kwatra and Finance Secretary Ajay Seth at San Francisco International Airport.

Two-day stay in San Francisco
Finance Minister Sitharaman will deliver a speech on laying the foundation of Developed India 2047 at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution during a two-day stay from April 20 in San Francisco. After this there will be a fireside chat session i.e. informal conversation. Here Sitharaman will interact with top CEOs of major fund management firms during a roundtable meeting with investors and will also hold bilateral meetings with CEOs of top information technology (IT) firms. Will interact with the Indian community at an event of the Indian diaspora in San Francisco.

Will participate in the meetings of IMF and World Bank
The Minister of Finance will be on a stay in Washington D.C. from 22 to 25 April. During this time she will participate in the spring meeting of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank. In addition, she will participate in the second meeting of finance ministers and central bank governors (FMCBGs) of the G-20 countries, the meeting of the Development Committee, the meeting of the IMFC and the Global Sovereign Debt Round Table (GSDR) meeting. During this, she will hold bilateral meetings with her counterparts from many countries including Argentina, Bahrain, Germany, France, Luxembourg, Saudi Arabia, United Kingdom and USA.
Will be on tour in Peru from April 26 to 30
Finance Minister Sitharaman, during her stay in Washington DC, met the Commissioner of Financial Services of the European Union, the Chairman of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Chairman of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), the Special Advocate for the United Nations Secretary General for Financial Health (UNSGSA) and Will also hold meetings with the First Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). She will then go on her first visit to Peru from 26 to 30 April.
