Lucknow| Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh held a meeting with all Divisional Commissioners, District Magistrates and senior police officers through video conferencing and gave necessary instructions regarding law and order. During this, he directed to deal strictly with those who spoil the atmosphere of the state by giving inflammatory speeches. Director General of Police Prashant Kumar was also present in the meeting. In an important meeting held in the presence of Chief Secretary Manoj Singh and Director General of Police Prashant Kumar, the Chief Secretary directed that those who spoil the atmosphere by giving inflammatory speeches should be dealt with strictly. Social media should be constantly monitored. Incidents of mischievous elements deliberately spoiling the atmosphere of the state by posting objectionable comments or old videos on social media on behalf of one community on another and demanding toll free wearing the dresses of farmer organizations and worsening the law and order situation are continuously coming to light. Coming, identify such people and take strictest action.
The Chief Secretary said that communal harmony should not be allowed to deteriorate under any circumstances in the state. The presence of police and administration should be visible in public places from Wednesday evening itself. Joint foot patrolling should be done with the force on different days under the leadership of senior police and administration officials. Flag marches can also be conducted by senior officials in cities, towns and especially in areas where pandals etc. are set up.
He said that the beat system should be reviewed and further strengthened. PRV vehicles are constantly moving, their presence should be visible on the roads. In view of festivals, leave of police and administration officials should not be approved. A meeting should be held with religious leaders to discuss that they should not hurt the sentiments of other religions by making objectionable comments. Similarly, this should be discussed in a meeting with officials of farmer organizations.

The Chief Secretary said that departmental women and girls hostels and places where women and girls are living for studies or jobs should be investigated and it should be ensured that proper security arrangements are made there. The problems of the people coming to the police station, tehsil and block should be listened to patiently and resolved as per the rules. They should be informed about what cannot be disposed of.
