UP Legislative Council proceedings stormy, ruling party and opposition face to face on many issues

Lucknow| The proceedings of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council were quite stormy on the second day. The ruling party and the opposition were seen face to face on many issues. Ashutosh Sinha and Dr. on behalf of SP under Rule 105 on declining level of education in Legislative Council. Man Singh Yadav presented his side. For this the Chairman fixed some time for him to speak. When the leader of the opposition party Lal Bihari Yadav started speaking, he started taking more time than the scheduled time, on which the members of the House started interrupting. Chairman Manvendra Singh cited the rules for speaking more than the stipulated time.

SP raised the issue of falling level of education, while Dhruv Kumar Tripathi of Shikshak Dal raised the issue of high level investigation into the distribution system of the entire state including Siddharthnagar on the distribution system of free books and ensuring strict action against the responsible officials. On which Minister of State for Basic Education Sandeep Singh said that action has been taken against all the culprits. The government is serious about the education of children and it is also ensured that they get text books on time.

Along with this, on the recruitment of candidates who have passed on the vacant posts of non-government aided junior high schools being done as soon as possible, the Minister of State said that recruitment will be done as soon as possible, on which Chairman Kunwar Manvendra Singh directed to ensure recruitment by 31 March 2025. However, member Dr. Akash Aggarwal walked out of the House accusing the youth of being ignored. Minister of State for Secondary Education Gulab Devi said that quality education is being ensured in secondary education schools.

Leader of the House and Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Maurya presented the demands for second supplementary grants for the financial year 2024-2025 in the House. During Question Hour, BJP member Devendra Pratap Singh asked a supplementary question to the Industrial Development Minister regarding the transfer of officers and employees that took place in the session 2023-2024 in the Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Authority. On which the Chairman instructed the government to conduct an investigation even before the completion of this financial year.

Independent Dr. Akash Aggarwal questioned Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Nandi regarding the exemption given to MLAs in toll tax on the roads of the state. In response to the supplementary question, Leader of the House Keshav Maurya said that efforts will be made to provide fast tag by talking to the National Highway Authority of the Government of India regarding exemption from toll tax. A letter will be written for this.

BJP members Vijay Bahadur Pathak and Dinesh Kumar Goel raised the issue of lack of women toilets in police stations and paan-bidi shops close to schools under Rule 110 and demanded discussion. Vijay Bahadur Pathak said that there is no separate toilet for women policemen even in Hazratganj Kotwali. He said that the operation of cigarette, paan and tobacco shops near school campuses in other districts including the capital Lucknow is continuing without any fear.

During Zero Hour, SP’s Lal Bihari Yadav, Rajendra Chaudhary, Balram Yadav and Kiran Pal Kashyap raised the issue of falling level of education in Uttar Pradesh as a postponement of work.
