‘UP is attracting tourists from all over the world’: CM Yogi

Lucknow| Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath greeted the people of the state on World Tourism Day. He said that today Uttar Pradesh is attracting tourists not only from the country but from all over the world. Last year, more than 46 crore tourists came to Uttar Pradesh. UP has become a hub of religious, spiritual, heritage and eco tourism. He has expressed hope that more than 40 crore devotees will come during Mahakumbh 2025 to be held in Prayagraj from Makar Sankranti to 26th February next year.
While talking to the media at his official residence on Friday, CM Yogi said that Uttar Pradesh, the heart of India’s spiritual and religious tradition, has today been successful in attracting tourists not only from the country but from all over the world. Under the leadership of the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, last year more than 46 crore tourists in UP have visited the sites of different religious spiritual, eco tourism or heritage tourism of the state. These tourists not only come to UP from tourism point of view but also play a big role in employment generation. Tourism activities serve to advance the best coordination of heritage and development.
Today Baba Vishwanath Dham in Kashi is attracting crores of tourists. Ayodhya, Vrindavan, Gokul, Barsana have attracted tourists from all over the world. He said that from the point of view of Buddhist tourism, Sarnath, Kushinagar, Shravasti, Kaushambi, Sankisa are attracting Buddhist devotees from all over the world. There are many possibilities in UP from the point of view of Jain tourism.
Ayodhya is the birthplace of Jain Tirthankaras, many Jain Tirthankaras had incarnated on the holy land of Kashi. The holy city of Kushinagar remains revered for us even today as the holy land of Jain Tirthankaras. Prayagraj Kumbh, the world’s largest spiritual and cultural event, is attracting devotees from all over the world. Similarly, from the point of view of heritage tourism, Laxmibai Fort in Jhansi, Kalinjar Fort in Banda, Red Fort of Agra, Fatehpur Sikri, Prayagraj Fort, Ramnagar Fort in Varanasi, Chunar Fort in Mirzapur and Imambara in Lucknow. There is a long tradition.
The Chief Minister said that the double engine government is fully committed to the convenience and interest of tourists. Today UP is known for its excellent connectivity. We have road, rail, water and air connectivity. Today we are joining the celebrations in Jhansi on the occasion of World Tourism Day, while 40 crore devotees from all over the world will also participate in the Mahakumbh held in Prayagraj from Makar Sankranti in 2025 till 26th February to attract the whole world towards this intangible cultural heritage of UP.
CM Yogi expressed confidence that as per the vision of PM Modi, the state government will be successful in attracting the country and the world and taking UP forward as an excellent tourism destination.
