Three Adani Group companies involved in the ‘cluster’ initiative of the World Economic Forum

New Delhi| Three Adani Group companies – Adani New Industries Limited, Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited (APSEZ) and Ambuja Cements have become part of the World Economic Forum’s ‘Transforming Industrial ‘Cluster’ initiative and have formed the Adani Mundra ‘Cluster.

Adani Group said in a statement that this initiative of the World Economic Forum (WEF) aims to increase cooperation between companies located at one place and harmonize their vision. The objective behind this is to accelerate economic growth, create employment and reduce carbon emissions to zero by 2050.

Karan Adani, Managing Director, APSEZ and Director, Ambuja Cements, said, Joining the WEF initiative will give signatories the opportunity to collaborate with global industry peers, research institutes, policy makers and experts. This will allow a new approach towards reducing carbon emissions to zero.

“The Adani Mundra Cluster (cluster) seeks to become an integrated green hydrogen manufacturing hub, which can help in reducing emissions reductions in the Indian economy and reduce the country’s dependence on energy imports”, he said.

Roberto Boca, a member of the WEF’s working committee, said, “We are pleased to welcome the Adani Mundra Complex as one of India’s first two clusters in our international community of 23 industrial clusters”. The complex is on track to become one of the leading hubs of green hydrogen in South Asia, harnessing Gujarat’s significant renewable energy potential.
