New Delhi| China hit back at the tariff attack launched by the US President. China on Tuesday announced an additional duty of up to 15 per cent on imports of major US agricultural products, including chicken, pork, soy and beef. The charges announced by the Ministry of Commerce will take effect from 10 March.

The duties have been implemented following US President Donald Trump’s order to increase the duty on imports of Chinese products to 20 percent. These fees have become effective from Tuesday. Imports of chicken, wheat, corn and cotton grown in the U.S. will attract an additional 15 percent duty, it said. Duty on sorghum, soybeans, pork, beef, seafood, fruit, vegetables and dairy products will be increased by 10 per cent.
