Swachh Ghat Competition 2.0: Yogi government steps for cleanliness and beautification of ghats on Chhath

Lucknow| On the occasion of Chhath Mahaparva, Yogi government is organizing Swachh Ghat Competition 2.0 in the state. Held until 8 November 2024, the main objective of this competition is to ensure cleanliness, beautification, and plastic free surroundings at the ghats.

Many activities have also been organized to promote this competition among various bodies. Under the competition, Arpan Kalash has been installed to maintain cleanliness at the ghats, so that awareness about cleanliness can be increased among the people. Along with this, the ghats have been declared no plastic zones to restrict the use of plastic and thermocol.

Toilets and bath houses are being installed at the ghats during the competition. Regular maintenance of these facilities is also being ensured. These facilities are being strengthened with the participation of Swachh Sarathi Club, schools, colleges, universities, NGOs and other voluntary organizations.

Innovation activities have been organized to beautify the ghats and bring about complete transformation. Dustbins have been arranged for proper disposal of garbage so that the ghat area always remains clean. Also, various activities are being organized to ensure maximum citizen participation in the cleanliness of the ghats.

Cooperation of NGOs, CSOs and other voluntary organizations is being received in this cleanliness campaign. Cleanliness campaign is being run on the ghats by these organizations and the importance of cleanliness is being explained to the people.
