‘Strict law for culprits of food adulteration soon’- CM Yogi

Lucknow| Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, in an important meeting, proposed a new law to permanently ban the incidents of adulteration of human waste/edible/dirty items in food items like juice, pulses and roti that have happened in recent times. Discussed.
In the meeting, CM Yogi said that in recent times, incidents of adulteration of human waste/edible/dirty things in food items like juice, pulses and roti have been seen in various areas of the country. Such incidents are gruesome and have adverse effects on the health of the common man. It also adversely affects social harmony. Such evil efforts cannot be accepted at all.

He said that in view of the importance of ensuring the purity of food items and maintaining confidence among consumers about public order, it is necessary to make strict laws. Prepare clear laws regarding these activities related to hotels, restaurants, dhabas, street vendors. Punishment of imprisonment and fine should be ensured against those who violate the law. Action should be taken considering such crime as cognizable and non-bailable.

While giving instructions in the meeting, CM Yogi said that by hiding their identity, anti-social elements should not have even a single activity to stop adulteration of human waste, inedible and dirty things in food items and beverages, this will have to be ensured through law. Such anti-social activities should be strictly curbed. Every consumer should have the right to have necessary information about the sellers and service providers of food and beverages. For this, it should be mandatory for the seller to put up a sign board at the establishment. It should be mandatory for all employees working in food establishments to wear identity cards. There should be a provision for harshest punishment against those who keep pseudonyms and give wrong information.

He said that every food establishment should ensure that no food in its percentage is contaminated. It should be mandatory to install adequate number of CCTV cameras for continuous monitoring in the kitchen and dining room of food establishments, whose minimum footage of one month should be made available at all times when asked by the district administration. It should be mandatory to wear a head covering, mask and gloves while cooking food in the kitchen and serving it in the dining establishment.

He said that the details of the personnel working in the establishment should be made available to the concerned businessmen by the food businessman. If any employee is confirmed to be an infiltrator or illegal foreign citizen in any food establishment, then strict action should be taken against them. Clear provision should be made in this regard in the law.
