Stock Market: Stock market opened with huge gains, Sensex rose 1200 points; Nifty also jumped

New Delhi| The Indian stock market opened with tremendous gains on the last day of the trading week. Sensex jumped 1210.68 points in early trade to reach the level of 75,057.83. Nifty has also made a sharp jump. Nifty is trading at 22,787.50 with a gain of 388.35 points. All sectoral indices in the market are trading in the green. The biggest rise in this is being seen in Nifty Metal and Nifty Pharma indices.

The stock market has seen these rises a day after US President Donald Trump suspended an additional 26 percent of tariffs on 75 countries in the world, including India, until July 9. However, Trump has increased the retaliatory tariff on China to 145 percent.

Earlier on Wednesday (Thursday was closed due to Mahavir Jayanti), BSE’s 30-share sensitive index Sensex closed at 74,227.08 points, jumping 1,089.18 points or 1.49 per cent, putting an end to the three-day fall. Its 29 shares were in profit. It climbed 1,721.49 points, or 2.35 percent, to 74,859.39 points during trading.

The NSE Nifty rose by 374.25 points, or 1.69 per cent, to 22,535.85, bringing the three-day-long decline to a halt. The benchmark rose by 535.6 points, or 2.41 per cent, to 22,697.20 during trading.

Rupee also increased
The rupee opened with strength on Friday amid a strong start in the domestic stock markets, weakness in the dollar and fall in oil prices. The rupee rose 51 paise to 86.17 against the US dollar in early trade. The surge comes a day after U.S. President Donald Trump suspended an additional 26 percent of tariffs on India until July 9.
