Roadways porter service to make the devotees and tourists coming by roadways buses feel good in Mahakumbh

Prayagraj| The Yogi government is determined to give a grand and divine form to the Mahakumbh which is going to be held in Prayagraj in 2025. For this, preparations are going on war footing from all the administrative departments. Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Department is also running many campaigns for the devotees and tourists reaching Mahakumbh so that the visitors do not have to face any kind of problem. Preparing roadways porters for Mahakumbh is part of this link. The administration estimates that more than 41 crore devotees and tourists will reach Prayagraj. Most of these visitors will reach Prayagraj by bus service. Roadways expect that these devotees reaching Prayagraj should not face any inconvenience on reaching the bus station. Roadways porters are also being prepared by the State Road Transport Department to ensure that visitors get a good experience from here.

MK Trivedi, Regional Manager of Prayagraj Zone of Roadways, says that on reaching the Roadways bus station, the first contact of the passengers is with the Roadways porters. In such a situation, special training will be given to roadways porters. This will include a campaign to give porters basic information about the means and routes to Mahakumbh along with treating the passengers well.

According to the regional manager, initially they will be put to work in two shifts of eight hours each. They have also been given their uniforms and badges. Instead of the red uniform of railway porters, they have been given blue colored pant-shirt uniform. These porters have a brass badge on their arm, on which their identification number is written.

Roadways has put them into service after examining their complete identity and behavior. The porters have been given badges only after getting information about Aadhar card and criminal record. In the first batch, 16 roadways porters are being prepared for this service in Civil Lines Roadways Bus Stand.

The Civil Lines bus station of Prayagraj has a traffic of 118 buses. Roadways porters will provide their services to all these passengers. These will prove to be most helpful in helping senior citizens and disabled passengers. Roadways Coolie Banwari Lal says that the devotees coming to Mahakumbh will be guests for us, especially the disabled and senior citizen passengers. Along with serving them with full humility as soon as the bus disembarks, we will also inform them about the routes of Kumbh and the means to reach there. We will also give information from our side so that they do not face any inconvenience in reaching there. The rate list of whatever money is fixed by the roadways for providing service to the porters will be put in the bus stand.
