RBI Governor reviewed the global and domestic economic outlook

New Delhi| The Central Board of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) meeting, under the leadership of new Governor Sanjay Malhotra, reviewed the current global and domestic economic scenario and also discussed the trends of banking in India and the draft report for its progress 2023-24 in this meeting.

The 612th meeting of the Central Board of Directors of the Reserve Bank of India was held in Guwahati under the chairmanship of Sanjay Malhotra, Governor. The Board appreciated the valuable services rendered by Shaktikanta Das during his tenure as Governor of the Bank.

Shaktikanta Das’s tenure and next steps were considered during the meeting. The meeting also covered the activities of select central office departments, as well as deliberating on the draft report for “Trend and Progress of Banking in India, 2023-24”. Other participants included RBI deputy governors Michael Devvrat Patra, M Rajeshwar Rao, T Rabi Shankar and Swaminathan J as well as Department of Financial Services secretary Nagaraju Madirala.
