Ayodhya| With the onset of winter, special preparations are being made for Lord Shri Ramlala at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya. According to Indian tradition, deities are also taken care of according to the season. Now under this tradition, Ramlala will be covered with a quilt from 20th November (Panchami of Aghaan).

Acharya Satyendra Das Maharaj, priest of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple, said that as the winter increases, changes will be made in the Lord’s bath, offerings and clothes. He told that just as we take care of our family members in the changing weather, similarly Lord Shri Ram will be taken care of.

With the advent of cold, many changes will be made in the care of Lord Ramlala, including bathing with lukewarm water, hot enjoyment and change of clothes.

Let us tell you that the chief priest of the temple was recovering in PGI Hospital, Lucknow for the last few days and has now returned to Ayodhya after completely recovering. He told that as winter progresses, special arrangements are made for Ramlala in the temple also. From the Panchami of Aghan, the Lord is regularly covered with a quilt, so that the Lord does not feel cold. Also, lukewarm water starts being used in the bath, so that Shri Ramlala can be protected from cold. Changes are also made in enjoyment. During cold days, hot food items are offered, so that the Lord gets food as per the favorable weather. As the cold increases, a blower is also installed in the temple if needed.

Acharya Satyendra Das said that taking such care of the gods is an essential part of tradition in Indian culture. This feeling shows the loyalty and love that devotees have towards their deity.
