Quality and efficiency of works should be improved by using new technologies: CM Yogi

Lucknow| UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed the works of the Irrigation Department during a meeting and expressed satisfaction and gave many important instructions. CM Yogi also instructed the department to pay special attention to the timeliness, quality of work and training of employees as well as prepare an action plan to prevent floods next year. During the meeting, Chief Minister Yogi directed the officials of the Irrigation Department to ensure timely completion of all the projects.

He said that delay not only increases the cost but also delays the public in getting benefits, hence timeliness of work should be the priority. Along with this, he also stressed on the quality of works and said that any kind of negligence will not be tolerated in development works.

Chief Minister Yogi said that to increase the capacity of the employees of the Irrigation Department, they should be given proper training. He also said that the quality and efficiency of works can be improved by using new technologies. Through training, employees should be made aware of modern technologies, so that flood control and water management work can be done effectively.

He stressed the need to be prepared in advance to deal with the potential flood threat in the coming year. Next year’s action plan for flood prevention should be prepared in collaboration with public representatives and district administration. Under the scheme, flood prone areas should be identified, repair of embankments, drainage system and other necessary preparations should be completed in time. Principal Secretary Irrigation and other senior officials also participated in the meeting and informed the Chief Minister about the progress of the ongoing work of the department.
