Prime Minister Modi to launch development projects worth 7,600 crore in Maharashtra

New Delhi| Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch several development projects worth more than Rs 7,600 crore in Maharashtra on Wednesday through video conferencing. Prime Minister Modi Nagpur’s Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar will lay the foundation stone for the upgrade of the international airport, which has a total estimated cost of around Rs 7000 crore. The project will act as a catalyst for growth in various sectors such as manufacturing, aviation, tourism, logistics and healthcare, benefiting Nagpur city and the entire Vidarbha region.

Prime Minister Modi will also lay the foundation stone of the new integrated terminal building at Shirdi Airport. The terminal, to be built at an estimated cost of Rs 645 crore, aims to provide world-class facilities and comforts for religious tourists visiting Shirdi. The construction theme of the proposed terminal is based on the spiritual neem tree of Sai Baba.

In line with his commitment to ensure affordable and accessible healthcare for all, Prime Minister Modi will initiate the operation of 10 government medical colleges, located in Mumbai, Nashik, Jalna, Amravati, Gadchiroli, Buldhana, Washim, Bhandara, Hingoli and Ambernath (Thane)

Along with increasing the number of undergraduate and post-graduate seats, these colleges will also provide specialized tertiary health services to the people.

In line with the vision of making India the “skill capital of the world”, PM Modi will inaugurate the Indian Institute of Skills (IIL) in Mumbai. The institute has been set up under the public-private partnership model, which aims to create an industry-ready workforce through cutting-edge technology and practical training. It is a collaboration between Tata Education and Development Trust and the Central Government.

The institute aims to provide training in highly specialized areas such as mechatronics, artificial intelligence, data analytics, industrial automation and robotics.

Additionally, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the Vidya Samiksha Kendra (VSK), which will provide students, teachers and administrators access to important academic and administrative data through live chatbots like smart attendance, self-study. It will provide schools with high-quality information for effective management of resources, strengthening relationships between parents and the state, and providing prompt support. Along with this, it will also provide curated learning materials to enhance teaching practices and learning.
