Prepare this extremely delicious Kheer at home for Sharad Purnima

Lucknow| Although there is a full moon every month, but the full moon of Ashwin month has a very special significance. The full moon coming in this month is called Sharad Purnima. Lord Vishnu is worshiped on this day. Making rice kheer in moonlight at night on Sharad Purnima has great importance. It is believed that nectar rains on this day and kheer is kept under the moon to get its share. This year Sharad Purnima is on 16 October.

It is believed that keeping kheer in moonlight on this day increases happiness and prosperity in the house. Therefore, many people prepare rice kheer on the terrace or balcony of their house on this day and the next day this kheer is distributed to everyone in the family. On this day, you should also make kheer at home and keep it under the moon. So we are going to tell you today the easy recipe to make rice kheer (Sharad Purnima Kher Recipe).

Ingredients for making rice kheer
Rice – 1/2 cup (wash and soak Basmati rice)
Milk – 2 liters (use full cream milk)
Sugar – 1 cup (or as per taste)
Cardamom- 4-5 (Cracked PC)
Almonds- 10-12 (finely chopped)
Cashew- 10-12 (finely chopped)
Raisins – 2 tbsp
Saffron-some threads
Ghee – 1 tbsp
Coconut filings- 1 tablespoon (for garnish)

Method of making rice kheer
Cook the rice – Heat ghee in a pan and fry the soaked rice in it until it turns light golden. Then add milk to it and boil it.
Thicken the milk – Cook the milk on low flame until it is reduced to half. Keep stirring it occasionally so that the milk does not stick down.
Add sugar and cardamom – When the milk becomes thick, add sugar and ground cardamom and mix well.
Add dried fruits – now add almonds, cashews and raisins and cook.
Add saffron – Soak saffron in hot milk in a small bowl. When the kheer becomes thick, add saffron milk to it.
Garnish – turn off the gas and let the kheer cool. After it cools down, garnish it with coconut fillets.
