In a post on X, the Prime Minister extended his wishes on Eid-ul-Fitr, expressing hope that the festival would strengthen the spirit of brotherhood and kindness. “May this day further brotherhood and kindness all around. May everyone be happy and healthy. Eid Mubarak,” he said.
In a separate message on Navroz, the Prime Minister wished for a year filled with joy, success and the fulfilment of aspirations. “Praying for a year filled with prosperity and joy. May everyone be healthy and may all aspirations be realised. Navroz Mubarak,” he said.
Eid-ul-Fitr marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan, during which Muslims observe fasting, prayer and reflection. The festival begins with the sighting of the moon and the start of Shawwal, the tenth month of the Islamic calendar. It is celebrated with congregational prayers, festive meals and social gatherings, with an emphasis on charity and community bonding.
Navroz, also known as Nowruz, marks the Persian New Year and the arrival of spring. Celebrated widely among Parsis and other communities with Persian heritage, the festival symbolises renewal, hope and the triumph of light over darkness.
