Paris Olympics 2024 day 12: High expectations of gold medal from Vinesh Phogat, Mirabai Chanu to be in action

Paris| While Vinesh Phogat secured a medal in wrestling for India on the 11th day of the Paris Olympics, the Indian hockey team lost by a margin of 3-2 in the semi-final match against Germany. Apart from this, in the qualification round of men’s javelin throw event, India’s Neeraj Chopra confirmed his place for the final but Kishore Jena could not succeed in it. Whereas in the team event in men’s table tennis, India had to face defeat from China team in the round of 16. On the 12th day of Paris Olympics i.e. 7th August Vinesh Phogat is expected to win the gold medal and India will face Germany in the quarter-finals of the women’s table tennis team event.

Talking about India’s schedule on the 12th day of Olympics 2024, it will start with the event of mixed marathon race walk in athletics while after this Aditi Ashok and Deeksha Dagar will be seen in action in the first stroke play round of women’s golf event. India’s women’s table tennis team will face Germany’s team to make it to the semi-finals. All eyes are also going to be on Mirabai Chanu in the medal event of women’s 49 kg category in weightlifting.

First round of Golf Women’s Individual Stroke Play – Aditi Ashok & Deeksha Dagar – 12:30 PM IST

Women’s Table Tennis Team Event Quarter-Final Match – India vs Germany – 1:30 PM IST (Manika Batra, Sreeja Akula and Archana Kamath in India’s squad).

Qualification of Men’s High Jump Event in Athletics – Sarvesh Kushare – 1:35 PM IST, (To qualify one must pass the mark of at least 2.29 metres).

Women’s 100 metres Hurdle Heats in Athletics – Jyoti Yaraji – 1:45 pm IST

Women’s 53 kg Freestyle Round of 16 Match in Wrestling – Final Panghal vs. Jeenep Yettgil – at 2:30 PM IST (If the final one wins this match then she will have her quarter-final today and semi-final match after winning it).

Men’s Triple Jump Qualification in Athletics – Praveen Chitravel and Abdullah Aboubakar – 10:45 PM IST (to make the final of the qualification mark 17.10 metres at this event).

Women’s 49 kg Category Medal Event in Weightlifting – Mirabai Chanu – 11:00 PM IST
