One year of OROP, PM Modi said lakhs of pensioners benefited

New Delhi| On this day, 10 years ago, the Modi government at the Center implemented One Rank One Pension (OROP). Recalling this historic day, the PM said that lakhs of pensioners have benefited. Today, it has been 10 full years since it came into force. Prime Minister Narendra Modi posted on social media platform X regarding One Rank One Pension. He wrote in the post, One Rank One Pension was implemented on this day. It was a tribute to the courage and sacrifice of our veterans and ex-servicemen. The decision to implement it was an important step towards addressing the long-standing demand and reaffirming our nation’s gratitude to our heroes. You all will be happy to know that lakhs of pension holders and their families have benefited from this historic initiative in the last decade. Beyond numbers, OROP represents the government’s commitment to the well-being of our armed forces.
We will always make every effort to strengthen our armed forces and advance the welfare of those who serve us. Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh posted on social media. He wrote, One Rank One Pension (OROP) has been an important pillar of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s policy towards the armed forces. Under his leadership, the government is committed to taking care of the soldiers and their families. More than 2.5 million ex-servicemen have benefited from the implementation of OROP. Thanks to the Prime Minister for fulfilling the commitment made to the ex-servicemen of the country.
BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya posted on social media platform X. He wrote, as we celebrate the anniversary of One Rank One Pension. A historic reform that has been honoring and uplifting our veterans for the past decade. OROP has ensured that armed forces personnel with the same rank and length of service receive the same pension regardless of their retirement date. More than 2.5 million armed forces pension holders and their families have benefited from this radical reform. In the last 10 years, the Government of India has spent more than Rs 1.25 lakh crore on One Rank One Pension. This commitment to our protagonists is becoming stronger over time, with pensions being re-fixed every 5 years.
