On Putin’s invitation, PM Modi leaves for Russia today
New Delhi| PM Modi will leave for Russia today. He is visiting Russia after 5 years. He will be on a tour of Russia and Austria from Monday to July 10. PM Modi will be in Moscow on Monday to attend the 22nd India-Russia Annual Summit at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Modi will reach Moscow on Monday afternoon.
PM Modi will interact with the Indian community settled in Russia on Tuesday. He will also lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the Kremlin. They will then visit the Rosatom Pavilion at the exhibition space in Moscow. This will be followed by restricted level talks between Modi and Putin, followed by delegation level talks led by the Prime Minister and the Russian President. The issue of early release of Indians misled in the name of jobs in the Russian Army is also expected to come up in the discussion.
PM Modi wrote on X, ‘Will stay in Russia and Austria for the next three days. These visits will be a great opportunity to deepen relations with countries with which India has time-tested friendships. I also look forward to interacting with the Indian community living in these countries.’
