New Delhi| In the new India, in Modi ji’s India, work is no longer done like before. There is an unusual synergy between government and industry aimed at delivering world-class services to meet the needs and expectations of 1.45 billion Indians. Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited Chairman Akash Ambani said  at the World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly (WTSA 2024).

“As a representative of Young India, I thank you for your incredible engagement with youth and inspiring us to achieve seemingly impossible goals”. He said,”Modi hai to mumkin hai…”. Akash Ambani also translated this in English for the foreign guests.

Akash Ambani said, “The world is shocked by a country that was crawling at 2 G eight years ago and is now moving at 5 G”. I would like to assure the Prime Minister that India’s record in 6 G will be even better. Akash Ambani said that UPI has become the world’s number one digital payment system. Today, India is the only large country in the world with the fastest internet despite low prices for mobile data.

Reliance Jio Infocomm Chairman Akash M Ambani said India should immediately adopt artificial intelligence with maximum “self-reliant” efforts and complete strategy. Speaking at the inauguration of IMC and ITUWTSA 2024, Ambani also urged the government to speed up the process of rolling out the draft Data Center Policy 2020 so that Indian data remains in India’s data centres.

He said, “…The scale and speed of multilingual data production in India, which will drive the AI revolution, is set to grow rapidly. We request the Government to expedite the process of adopting the 2020 draft data center policy. Indian data should remain in the data centers of India only. It’s necessary to make sure that’s so.”

Ambani described AI as a revolutionary tool for change in every sector including healthcare, education, agriculture and manufacturing. He said Indian companies ready to set up AI and machine learning data centers should get all necessary help including incentives for power consumption.
