Mahakumbh 2025: Roads being made better, Sangam routes to be made smoother

Prayagraj| Construction works are being carried out on a war footing in Prayagraj regarding Mahakumbh 2025. Due to the organization of Mahakumbh, the work of widening and beautification of roads is in full swing in the entire city. In such a situation, the work of widening and beautification of the roads leading to Sangam, the central place of Mahakumbh, is also in the final stage. It is scheduled to be completed by 30 November.

Additional Fair Officer Vivek Chaturvedi said that with the cooperation of PDA and Cantonment Board, the construction work of roads connecting Sangam to the city will be completed by 30 November. According to the estimated number of devotees, all the roads in the fair area are being widened in more than double the number as compared to the previous Kumbh.

The UP government is leaving no stone unturned to make its event divine and grand. Around 40 crore people are estimated to come to Prayagraj in Mahakumbh 2025, which is one and a half to two times compared to the previous Kumbh fair. Widening of roads is also being done in the same proportion. The main destination of devotees coming to Prayagraj in Mahakumbh is Triveni Sangam. All the roads connecting Triveni Sangam to the city are being constructed rapidly.

Additional Fair Officer said that the work of widening of Triveni Road, Lal Road, Kali Road, Naval Rai Road, Kila Ghat Road and Daraganj Road going to Sangam from the city will be completed by 30th November. According to estimates of the number of devotees, the capacity of all roads is being doubled. Besides, interlocking footpaths are also being built on both sides of the roads, so that the devotees do not have to face any kind of problem. The construction work of Triveni Road and River Front Road of Daraganj connecting Sangam to Prayagraj Junction is also in the final stage, which will be completed soon.

He told that the roads of the fair area come under the jurisdiction of the Cantonment Board. The construction and widening work of these roads is being done with the help of PDA and Cantonment Board. Besides, the inter locking roads leading to Kila Ghat and Sangam Nose in front of Hanuman Temple are also being doubled. Their construction work will also be completed by 30 November. All necessary information about the main tourist places of the fair will be given to the devotees through hoardings and sign boards on the roadside and main intersections. Besides, information and inquiry centers will also be set up at various places for the convenience of the devotees.
